The J.E.B. Stuart Sword Hanger became a standard cavalry issue throughout the Civil and Indian Wars, up to 1900. Prior to the onset of the Civil War, J.E.B. Stuart did not like the design of the sword hangers used at that time, so he designed and patented his own style of hanger. His device enabled the cavalryman to remove the sword, scabbard, and belt slings entirely without unhooking the scabbard from the belt and leaving the straps swinging loose from the belt rig.

The hanger is available in black or brown.

The hand forged blade is British military spec fully tempered 1065 high carbon steel that will flex over 20 degrees and return to true. The leather handle is wire wrapped and the pommel and guard is brass. This saber is collector grade. The blade is unsharpened.

The Inspectors Mark on the blade reads "US, ADK, 1862". The other side of the blade is marked "AMES MFG CO, CHICOPEE, MASS"

This saber features a 35" long, curved blade superbly designed for thrusting and slashing. Comes complete with a stout steel scabbard. Overall length is 41".

The M1860 Cavalry Officer Saber is a fine reproduction saber and a faithful copy of the originals used. It is made to to perform exactly as the original in every way. The hand forged blade is British military spec fully tempered 1065 high carbon steel. The leather handle is wire wrapped and the pommel and guard is brass. The blade is unsharpened. This saber is collector grade.

The brass, 3-branch guard is nicely hand chased and engraved, as is the brass pommel. Blade is beautifully etched with “U.S.,” and “E Pluribus Unum,” along with foliage and military trophies. Steel scabbard has brass throat, rings and drag.

The blade is 33" long, 1 1/8" wide, and 3/16" thick. It weighs 2 pounds 3 oz. Overall length is 39". Scabbard weight is 1 pound 10 oz.

This authentic, hand made replica is hand forged and fully tempered of British military spec 1095 high carbon steel. Made with original handle and sheath materials to ensure it performs exactly as the original did. Features a flexible, ornate blade and leather grip wrapped with brass wire. It is just like the old one carried by General Jo Shelby, the Missouri cavalry raider who never surrendered his command. This fine sword has "C.S.A." crisply acid etched on the hand forged blade. "C.S." is cast into the guard with excellent detail. The scabbard is blued steel, with brass throats, mounts, rings and drag. Beautifully finished. The blade is unsharpened. This saber is collector grade.

This saber features a 32" long, curved blade. Comes complete with a stout steel scabbard. Overall length is 38".

The 1840 non commissioned sword was carried by American soldiers for over 70 years; a period which included the Mexican War, Civil War and Spanish American War.

This 1840 Non Commissioned Sword is a fine reproduction sword, is a faithful copy of the originals used and is collector grade. The single edged blade has a single broad fuller running from the ricasso to near the point. The entire hilt is cast brass and the grip is ribbed. Pommel is global with a capstan. Grip is flanked by kidney-shaped hand guards. NCO sword comes with a steel scabbard. The blade is unsharpened and the scabbard is made for a NCO style belt.  Will not attach to a standard saber belt.

The blade is 31 3/4 inches long.

Lee, carried this sword in the Indian campaigns. Brass pommel, scabbard is blue steel.

Of all the Confederate swords and sabers this one was the one used most. Wielded by the troops under the command of J.E.B. Stuart, Wade Hampton, and Nathan Bedford Forrest, this saber dispatched horsed of Yankee soldiers. This is a very distinctive saber with a brass guard similar to that of the 1860 Light Cavalry Saber.

This saber is a fine reproduction and a faithful copy of the originals used. The hand forged blade is British military spec fully tempered 1095 high carbon steel. The brown leather grip is wrapped with brass wire and the pommel and guard are brass. The blade has the classic Confederate "unstopped" fuller. The scabbard has brass furniture, ring mounts, and drag. The blade is unsharpened. This saber is collector grade.

The M1859 US regulation spurs were the standard spurs issued to enlisted cavalry and horse artillery during the Civil War and Early Indian Wars. These spurs were also used extensively by the Confederate mounted troops.

The spurs are made of cast brass with steel rowels. The Type 1 have the FLAT heel strap. The shank comes off the top of the strap and goes almost straight back to the rowel.

The 1858 Revolving Carbine was one of the first muzzle-loading revolving carbine. This model was known for its easy handling and reliability. About 3,000 models were produced from 1866 - 1879. 

This .44 caliber carbine features a walnut stock and an adjustable sight. It has a tapered 18" steel barrel and brass trigger guard.

Issued with each cavalry saddle, the Carbine Socket buckled to the “offside” or right “D” ring of the saddle’s quarter straps. The carbine was carried by the trooper suspended from the sling worn across his body attached to the carbine by the snap swivel. When the trooper was mounted, the barrel of his carbine was fed into the socket attached to his saddle and so arranged, kept the muzzle of his carbine under control, and prevented it from slapping against the side of the horse.

The Carbine Boot was designed to hold the barrel of a trooper's carbine snugly while riding on his mount.

An economical cavalry carbine cartridge box features an inner flap covering a tool pouch. Wooden blocks for cartridges are included. The tab on the front flap is both sewn and riveted. There are 2 belt loops on the back. The box is sewn in white thread and is made of black leather and now in Russet.

The Civil War Blakeslee Spencer Quick Loader Cartridge Box is designed for the Spencer Carbine. Because of the rapid speed that a Spencer carbine could be fired, a special box needed to be designed to hold cartridges for loading. Erasmus Blakeslee patented this box late in 1864. U.S. Government contracts for over 30,000 boxes were delivered to the War Department but few were used in the Civil War due to time delays of production and distribution.

This box contains 6 tin tubes encased in a bored wood block. The wood block is wrapped in smooth black bridle leather with a hinged leather lid to protect the open tops of the tin tubes from the elements. The box is worn over the shoulder on the left side. The leather shoulder strap attached to the box holds the device close to the trooper's left side. This arrangement allows the soldier to reach across with his right hand, flip open the 'Quickloader' box lid, draw out a single magazine tube filled with seven cartridges and insert the bullets into the stock of the Spencer weapon. The box has an implement pouch just like the originals, include the shoulder sling, and has a belt loop on the back.

Available for EITHER .44-40 ammunition OR .56-50 ammunition.  The .44-40 will fit .45 Long Colt ammunition. 

The box is available in black leather only and measures approximately 13 inches longs and 2 inches by 3 inches wide.

The M1874 Dyer cartridge pouch is used with the 45/70 rifle or carbine during the Indian Wars. It is made of high quality black leather with a US in oval embossed on the flap. The flap closure has a brass plate and finial. There are two belt loops on the back. It is lined with lambs wool. The pouch is available in Black or Russet leather. Color selection will be available on the Shopping Cart page.

Chief of Ordnance, General Alexander Dyer, designed the cartridge box needed to carry the ammunition needed by the single action Colt revolvers issued during the late 1800's. The .45 cal cartridges could be easily carried and accessed with this new design.

The flap closure has a brass finial. There are two belt loops on the back. Inside are 2 rows of ten canvas loops for 20 cartridges. The box opens by folding down on a brass hinge. The US Mounted Services Greatcoat is worn by Cavalry and Mounted Artillery. The Coat is a Double Breasted 12 Button Front Coat with a 12 Button Cape that extends to the cuff. The coat uses Federal Eagle Buttons and the button holes are HAND STITCHED. The Coat features a Stand and Fall Collar and Fold Down Cuffs.

The coat is made of 16 oz. Sky Blue or Navy Blue Wool with a heavy cotton body lining that extends just below the waist. The coat skirt has a split back seam and the belted back features 2 large buttons. The hem is left raw (unhemmed) as per originals. Navy blue is for officer.  Most sizes will need to be ordered.  Let us know if you want it made with a certain button for Officer.

For a roomier fit over sack coats and shell jackets, order 1-2 sizes larger than your normal size.
