Originally manufactured bu the Richmond Armory in Richmond, Virginia from 1861 - 1865, the CS Richmond Musket was noted for its accuracy. This model was produced in larger numbers than any other Confederate long arm and is a direct copy of the US Model 1855 with the exception of eliminating the Maynard priming system for the lock. This musket features a one-piece barrel of forged steel with "VP" and an eagle head stamped to the left of the breech. Markings on the lock are "1862" to the left of the hammer and "CS RICHMOND, VA" to the right of the hammer. Caliber is .58 with a one piece oil-finished walnut stock, accented with brass trigger guard, nose cap and butt plate. The musket feature military-style sights.
