1 stripe for 5 years of service. 1/2 inch tape applied over wool background. Tape color designates Branch of Service: Infantry: Sky Blue; Artillery: Red; Cavalry: Yellow. Background color should be the color of the coat for no war service, or sky blue for Artillery war service and red for all other branches.
