Kitchen Peppers has been in use for hundreds of year, and cooks modified over time to their needs. The 1878 recipe is a blend used on the Western Frontier. The spice in this blend were common to the time period and available to civilian and military cooks. Kitchen Pepper was mainly used to enhance soups and stews for a unique flavor.
